The majority of judo holds are taken upon the outer garment, therefore practitioners must have confidence that their uniform will hold up to the stress. Our Judo Uniform is ideal for standing techniques, ground techniques, and vital point techniques. The jacket is made from 15.4 oz., 100% white bleached cotton. The jacket is loose fitting and comes down well over the hips. It's fastened about the waist with a long belt or sash (See sash selection). The lapels of the collar are wide and padded to ensure a good hold. An extra layer of material is sewn into vital gripping areas, such as the shoulders, the upper back/neck and the chest. To further reduce the stress of the material under the arms, a reinforcement patch is sewn over the seams. The pants are of a traditional cut with a drawstring waist and are made from a lightweight 100% cotton fabric. The knees are reinforced with an extra layer of material. The crotch of the pants are made from a three-sectioned gusset allowing extra mobility and comfort. A white belt is included with this complete uniform.
